Lilly’s Purple Plastic Purse by Kevin Henkes

Every have that feeling of excitement when you get something new and all you want to do is show it to the world? If so you would love this book! Lilly loves school and is so excited to show off her new purse, glittery sunglasses, and shinny new quarters. The only problem is that she always seems to want to share at the wrong time. Her favorite teacher seems less than thrilled when Lilly continues to interrupt class in attempts t o share her fabulous new item. In out of retaliation creates a mean note showing her feelings about his new mean attitude. This is another funny Kevin Henkes tale featuring the beloved character Lilly. I just love the feisty spirit of Lilly and her individuality. Once again Henkes uses the same style of creating more to the story with illustrations. This would have to be one of my favorite Henkes books because I just love Lilly so much. If you are not familiar with this character you need to start reading up, she'll bring laughter to your spirits and warm your heart. I think every child will find that they know some one who resembles Lilly's lively personality or even that they share some quality with this character.
